Bali Nutrition and healthcare education

The volunteering was a great experience and put my out of my comfort zones. I learnt a lot about the culture here in Bali and got to explore some amazing places on my time off.

The team were amazing and the food was really good! Accommodation as well was lovely, just a bit far out from Ubud that I thought.

There needs to be much more description on where volunteers stay and what they will be doing before arrive. I had no idea, turning up blind sighted. Also the program was not only focused on nutrition it was healthcare in general and it just involved teaching which was not specified in the brief.

Bali English teaching

Country and project I volunteered on.... Bali and English teaching.

Tell us as much as you can about your trip, were there any highlights? What was the volunteering like? ... I had the most amazing time helping children learn English during daily lessons. I will definitely do it again, as I also met the most amazing people.

Comments on local team, food and accommodation...... The staff were so welcoming and created a safe space for everyone.

Improvements........ Longer hours to volunteer.

Kindergarten Project in Ubud

My volunteering experience in Bali was truly amazing!

The Introduction week was great (we visited Temples, Ubud, a traditional dance show, made Batic Painting & much more!) and after that, my project in the kindergarten started.
You have to work from 8-10h with 30 Minutes break. The kids are 5-6 years old, and don‘t know much English, so you have to teach them the basics very playfully. Working in the kindergarten can be very loud, but overall it‘s fun and the kids have are so sweet and thankfull!

On the afternoon you can chill at the pool or make day trips to waterfalls,go out for dinner in Ubud or even go to the beach (45 Min drive).

On the weekends nearly nobody stays in the accomondation, everyone goes on trips to discover more of Bali.

It was such a great experience and the time went by so fast. I would definetly recommend it!

Pros
  • The local team is so sweet and very helpfull. I had a surf accident and they really took care of me. They can also help you with visa extention.
  • The food was very traditional Indonsian food but soo good! Fresh fruit to every meal.
  • The accomantions are small, but they get cleaned every day. The bathrooms are western.

I volunteered in Bali, Indonesia for the project named Healthcare-Education.

I really had a great time volunteering here in Bali. It was a great experience and I’m glad to be able to do it. I met such lovely people here in the volunteer community. It feels good to do something on purpose, to have a positive impact on local community and making this world a better place by giving back. I recommend volunteering for everyone. It’s beneficial for others aswell as for oneself. I enjoyed it!

The Team was great! Very loving and welcoming! Always there for us when we have questions or when we have anything to talk about! The food is very delicious and hygienic! The accommodation was satisfying to me. Very clean.

I did work at the turtle conservation in Nusa Penida, Bali.

It was very wholesome to see how the coordinators worked with the turtles. They knew a lot and told us everything about them, that we wanted to know. They helped us with anything and everything. And i really appreciated the effort to get to know every single person on this project. We sometimes had to clean the tanks of the turtles and brush and feed them or we would do beach cleaning or crab catching. We had a lot of free time.

As i said i felt very welcomed. The food was good, i liked the traditional food. And the accommodations were hood too. I didn’t expect a air conditioner but it helped a lot. The little resort with the garden and pool was very pretty.
