Great experience with IVHQ

Had the best experience with IVHQ. Felt very supported throughout the whole process. I had great support from when I first signed up to when I was finished and flying back home. Both the staff in New Zealand and those in Tanzania such as the coordinators, really made my experience great. I felt comfortable and safe at all times and extra help was always available if/when I needed it. There was a great balance between the volunteer work and social/recreational activities, plus I met the most amazing people.

Very supportive. Worth the money.

I had such a great experience with IVHQ I spent 8 weeks in Tanzania and felt so supported with every step I took. Even after I came home the guide on adjusting back to ‘normal’ life was a really nice touch. I had fun on all the trips that I went on. I’ve had an unforgettable experience, all thanks to IVHQ.
The partnered team in Tanzania (THE) were amazing too.
Whilst I was in Tanzania I met Mariana who is amazing! She would listen to feedback but also chat to us as friends.
If you are thinking about it. Do it!

Pros
  • So much support
  • Fun activities to offer
  • Met friends for life

Volunteering in Zanzibar

My volunteering experience in Zanzibar was beyond amazing. From the very start when I arrived in the camp I instantly found I was part of a family, everyone who worked their made sure your stay was at the highest level it could be and let me tell you it was so fun. With the volunteering itself, I loved how it was so broad and no day was the same as there were so many volunteering activities to choose. My personal favourite was the school, I loved working in the school and speaking with all the children and helping them when needed. I really recommend to volunteer abroad as it opens you up to new experiences and you can grow in confidence and independence

Pros
  • The camp staff
  • The camp maintenance
  • Volunteering activities
Cons
  • It can be costly but worth it

AMAZING

Don't be scared, just buy the plane ticket !! IVHQ made the whole experience really safe and organized, absolutely everything was perfect. Thank you very much to the team, because this trip to Arusha was definitely one of the best experience of my life ! Unfortunately, I only stayed for a week, and it was not enough, so if I had an advice, it would be : stay a really long time (2 weeks minimum). You will have the opportunity and time to do so many activities. Also, don't be scared to come alone, almost everyone I know came as a solo traveler, you'll make friends there !!

Pros
  • Safety
  • Organisation
  • Impact

my trip in tanzania

My whole tanzania trip was absolutely incredible! As soon as i arrived i got picked up by the team and explained to about my trip. The accommodation was surprisingly really nice: comfy beds, warm showers, proper toilets etc. The mamas at the house cook 4 meals a day and cook for your needs too (i’m an extremely fussy vegetarian) but there was food i ate. I volunteered at a daycare which was the best thing ever. When we wanted to go out as a big group, the team would plan transport for us. IVHQ was always a message away if you needed anything. I’ve already planned my next trip back for a longer period of time in a few months. See you soon Tanzania :)

p.s if you are wondering whether to do it, DO IT you won’t regret it

Pros
  • lovely solo travellers
  • 24/7 support
  • everything catered for
Cons
  • long flight

IVHQ Tanzania trip

IVHQ was great from start to finish. They provided me with all of the guidance required when going overseas as a solo female traveler. They ensured I felt safe during the entire program and the 'house mumma's' took care of me as if I was one of their own. The price was also extremely reasonable for the amount of food and care I was given!

The weekend activities were also very well organised and gave me an opportunity to immerse myself in the country's culture fully whilst there. I thoroughly enjoyed my program and would definitely return in a heartbeat!
