Over 40% of Mexico’s population lives in poverty with over 10% in extreme poverty. Free education and healthcare are essential in the fight towards combating poverty, and in turn, education plays a role in protecting Mexico’s breathtaking natural landscapes and diverse cultures. Help change the lives of disadvantaged communities and enrich your life by volunteering in community and conservation projects, including medical projects, special education, and sea turtle conservation.

These projects can be combined with learning Spanish and traveling to see some of Mexico’s highlights.

Yes, I recommend this program

So Much to Do, So Little Time

My Teaching English experience in Mexico is one that I will never forget. The team made me feel very special. The Country Coordinator was there to help me every step of the way. I was teaching at a preschool, the kids were very interested in my teaching approach. I made sure they were never bored. After the classes we also played games. This made the kids even happy. I definitely wanted to stay longer. I would recommend this program to anyone who wishes to teach and love teaching. I made great people during my two weeks stay. On a Saturday the school organized an awareness event for the people of local community where I spoke about clean and healthy leaving, tree plantation and proper nutrition. It was an overwhelming experience.
My hosts were very nice people. They made sure there was no trouble for me during my stay.

What would you improve about this program?
I could have impacted the Project and Students more if I had been there little longer. Also, I realized there were very few books in the library. The school could definitely benefit from more books.

Yes, I recommend this program

Mexico- Love, Love!!

I really enjoyed the volunteering experience. I liked my placement very much. The project " Special Education Program" was in itself very rewarding and overwhelming. The kids were very sweet. I had a lot of fun with them. The host family whom I was with was excellent. The food was good and they were always ready to help.

Thank you so much for taking me into this program I had a lot of great memories from it. I will send you some photos of my stay as well, but I am right now traveling in San Fransisco, Oakland, so I can't upload my photos. Once I am back in Estonia I will send some photos as well. Thank you again for letting me give my help through this program I feel good about the experience and maybe in the future will attend some more too!

What would you improve about this program?
Transparency regarding where the amount goes and how the program has been improved since the volunteer’s last visit would make this program even more authentic.
