About Program

The University of Buckingham is one of the UK's top independent universities, and the only one with a Royal Charter.

As one of the smallest universities in the UK, with a pool of around 2,700 students, it offers a more personalised learning experience that is different from other universities. At the same time, the University is like a global village with over 100 different nationalities studying at Buckingham.

Buckingham is one of the few universities in the UK that offer September and January start dates for almost all their courses. As pioneers of the two-year degree, Buckingham also offer a condensed version of the traditional three-year degree, meaning you can gain a full honours degree and complete your studies a whole year earlier. Alternatively, you can complete both your undergraduate and master’s degree three years which can save you time and money.

Studies at the University of Buckingham

I study medicine at this university and I find it great. The transition was made easier since the staff was very helpful and the small class sizes mean that you get to know your lecturers really well. The student support is excellent and very prompt in helping me with both study and personal needs. The accommodation is really good as well and the accommodation and maintenance staff is very prompt and helpful. It is a quiet place and I really do enjoy it a lot here . I really enjoy being in Buckingham. 😀

Best Choice I Ever Made

Coming to the University of Buckingham as in international student was definitely the best choice I’ve ever made. The staff:student ratio is perfect, and meant that each student was getting very personalised attention from academics at the top of their field. Buckingham has uniques features, because it’s the UK’s first independent University. So I was studying BA English Literature with Psychology, which is a rare degree course. We had small-group Oxbridge-style tutorials. The student experience was also great, the Students’ Union puts on a variety of events catering to different interests.

What would you improve about this program?
The only thing I can think of is that it would be good to have a train station in Buckingham!
