About Program

As an au pair you’ll be able to call Italy home – complete with your own Italian family.

Italians are serious about loving life. This shows up in their passion for fine-dining, their elegant art – both modern and centuries old, and family focused lifestyle.

Explore the ruins of Rome, the rolling hills and wine region of Tuscany, or the global fashion capital of Milan.

The staggering beauty of the Amalfi Coast can’t be described. You have to see it for yourself – while getting a chance to rub shoulders with the rich and famous.

Being an au pair means you become part of your Italian family. You live with them, eat with them, and have fun with them. Which means anything you earn (between €70 – €200 a week) goes into your back pocket to fund your travels, eat delicious meals on your days off, or buy a new wardrobe on the cobbled streets of Milan

Program Highlights

  • Host family match. Match with your host family – which you’ve approved – before you leave home. You have access to the family profile and can even video call with them before you match.
  • Pre-approved agreement. Once you’ve found your host family, you’ll have the chance to set up your agreement. This covers salary, duties, expectations, time-off etc. So you know exactly what you’re getting into before you leave.
  • 5 nights hostel accommodation – on us. We want you to have the best time. So we’ve included 5 nights accommodation at a hostel anywhere in Italy. When you’re ready to explore on your time off, 5 nights of accommodation are covered.
  • Online au pair course. Never been an au pair? Not to worry! This 4-hour interactive au pair course will teach you everything you need to know before you go. The rest of the learning can be done on the job because it’s specific to each family.
  • Optional extension. If you’re not ready to go home when your contract expires you can match with a family in the Netherlands to continue your life in Europe.

Au Pair in Milan (June 2022 - June 2023)

I have had the best time Au Pairing in Milan, I'm excited to do another one! My host family was perfectly matched with me, and we've had such a lovely, stress-free and special time together. They have been so welcoming and flexible, I have learnt and seen so much! I've managed to see 15 new countries and many more fabulous cities. I couldn't have asked for a better host family and experience! I had the days off (when the child was at school) so I have been able to complete a year of my degree too which has been amazing. I've met the nicest people and made friends for life which I'm so grateful for.

Pros
  • Live in a new city and get to know a family
  • Travel
  • Have spare time to explore/study/meet people

Julie-anne

I had the pleasure of being placed with Julie fort trip. She was nothing short of amazing!! She made the whole process easier by giving great advice and making sure everything was in order especially with things like my visa, she gave me step by step instructions on how to complete it so it gets processed asap! My friend and I were placed with Julie for this experience and both of us have had the easiest transition and had such a great time choosing families with Julie’s help. I can’t recommend her enough!

Pros
  • Amazing cultural experience
  • Networking with so many other Aupairs and making great friendships
  • Travelling
Cons
  • Only here for 12 months

AuPair

I recommend anyone who has a love for children and travel to be an AuPair in a foreign country. You are so well looked after by your manager and any questions you have will be answered. I was worried that I would feel lonely and isolated, but it’s the opposite, you are always included in the family activities if you want too be, they take trips and go away on weekends and you’re invited to come or welcome to stay home and explore. They respect that you are away from home and are open to your needs, there are many different families i came in contact with in all areas, and I chose one that I felt met my needs and what I was looking for. As an Australian the family was very happy to have me teaching their eldest fluent english, and many beach trips. My manager Julie-Anne was very involved and brought me comfort towards the fact there was many other AuPairs in my area that she could connect me with.

Pros
  • Travel
  • Expanding your experience with children
  • New culture, food and family
Cons
  • Language barrier
  • Away from home

10/10 love it! ❤️

Everyone along the way has been super friendly and helpful, always available for any random questions you might have! All the steps were really clear and I didn’t run into any trouble. I found the interview process/family selection straight forward and I didn’t feel like I needed to make a rush decision so I was really happy and have found a perfect family that I feel really safe with! I’m also still in contact with Julie (my trip coordinator) as well, she does regular check ins to make sure you’re still enjoying everything which is really comforting! She’s amazing so glad to have her! Love the new journey I’ve been able to start through global work and travel! X
