To make our vision for the future a reality, we embrace a number of sustainability best practices including: Going Paperless, choosing recycled products where appropriate, controlling our energy consumption including the use of electricity in the office, recycling and re-purposing office equipment, and donating surplus equipment to be be reused.

Ethical Impact

To reduce the ethical impact of our programs, we work with and promote locally-owned businesses and service providers to ensure that local communities benefit from our interns making their cities home for a short period. My ultimate London internship guide

As a BBA student with a long term goal to work in the music industry applying to Beatbrdg was a great decision. London is a special city, and having the opportunity to work at Universal for the summer was a dream come true. Having previously interned in NY I thought I knew what to expect, but culturally England is totally different to the US and being able to experience this firsthand was invaluable. My role was mainly data-driven and marketing led, and has helped me gain a fuller understanding of how the industry relies on data to make key artist decisons. I would love to return to London, and fully endorse this program for its ability to deliver a great internship with a major label.

Pros
  • 100% career focused opportunties tailored to your goals
  • Tuition was low and affordable
  • My adviser matched me with a great company

A nice program and getaway

This has been an amazing trip. London is vibrant, beautiful, and historic. The food was so good to try all the local treats. I began my search for a way to work in London in May because I love it so much. I saw an opportunity to come and follow an internship in music industry so I apply. Beatbrdg interns placed me with a music promotion agency that was absolutely perfect for me. I get to work each day and have Fridays off to travel and spend time in the city. I stayed for 6 weeks and really enjoy the experience.

4 weeks is not enough

I always wanted to do an internship in London, and tried unsuccessfully during covid to get something organized. When BEATBRDG music was recommended to me, I contacted them to try and get a Summer internship locked in. In less than 2 weeks, my label internship was confirmed and soon after I was on my way! Tuition was affordable, and the housing they arranged was fine. I would definitely recommend this experience to others who want to spend a summer in London or want to get music industry experience.

Pros
  • London is incredible.

Step into the music industry!

I had a fantastic experience doing the BEATBRDG immersion week in London, and this experience has helped solidify my aspiration of pursuing a career in the music industry.

Throughout the week, I gained a well-rounded and comprehensive understanding of the music industry from the commercial aspect (working in talent management, working at a label), to the creative (music production, and studio engineering), in addition to meeting some great people.

I got to have a direct hands-on experience, and find my passion and place in the industry. This learning experience is unlike any other, is well put together, and a lot of fun.

Pros
  • Well put together itinerary allows you to experience various aspects of the industry
  • Tuition included housing and most other costs

Wonderful Summer in London

Really good program. The advisors at the internship company were excellent and took just 3 weeks to get the internship confirmed. I was directly involved in researching and writing lots of copy and articles for the music magazine I worked at, and have been credited on the website a few times since.

I quickly felt at home in London, and enjoyed going out with other interns for fun afternoons and nights out. With no language barrier, London can be a city for most interns to work in easily. It is easy to recommend Beatbrg and my intrership to others.

Pros
  • Historic city
  • Modern and safe housing
  • Not expensive for the quality of internship I got
Cons
  • Rained a lot even during summer
  • Internship started at 9am each day

Great week in London

This past week has been an amazing experience. My biggest takeaway from the week has been the people I’ve met. Our first night orientation set the foundation for what turned out to be an amazing group of friends made over the week. The accommodations were located in zone 1 right next to Nothing Hill station, making you only a few stops from central London. You get your own room with a bathroom, and the common area included tv, pool, and gym. In terms of activities, we all followed the same track, and had daily music related activities (studio sessions, label visits) and then a city-sightseeing based activity (cinema-trip, Big Ben, Regent park). Activities were a lot of fun, and we all got to show our experience, ask questions and really learn! Everyone was at different stages of their development which made sessions more fun. While the experience was a little expensive after I included my flight, I would recommend it based off my experience because it would have been impossible for me to try and arrange all of the visits and activities we got to try myself. I will keep in touch with the rest of the group, and we all joined the group Whatsapp group to share our progress now that we are home. I recommend this experience for everyone that loves music.

Pros
  • so much to do
  • great activities like visiting a music studio, and a record label, and seeing live sessions
Cons
  • none, I loved it

My Summer Music Magazine Internship Experience

Disclaimer - My review will not be the typical international student internship review, as I live in London, go to uni here in London, and so while I love London as a city, it is not a new place for me, it is home, so my lens may not be as valuable for overseas students.

Ok, where to start? London is a great city. Fun, cultural, tolerant, exciting, expensive, wet (yes, even during the Summer months), and it cannot be beaten when it comes to opportunities to develop your career through an internship, or just to enjoy all that one of the worlds best known cities has to offer.

If it is your first time here, there is lots to experience, for all budgets. It if it is not your first time here, then you can dig a little deeper and get to know the London I know, that lives alongside the touristy parts of town.

Doing an internship here can be a thoroughly rewarding experience, and something that will look great on your CV. I learned about Beatbrdg through my careers officer, and decided to apply primarily because I want to work in music licensing.

My first impressions of the Beatbrdg experience was a little chaotic, they are quite new but very helpful and insightful about the industry in general, and how to help me in achieving my summer goal.

Interning at The Wire was an amazing experience! I worked for five days per week, basically full-time hours, and rotated across industry news, and social media, which is now one of the dominant areas of the magazine. The work environment was really informal and flat, so everyone including interns was given the confidence to have a voice, and share opinions, ideas, and knowledge. Work was intense, and we had tight deadlines each week, mostly focused on submitting copy.

Working in the heart of the West End meant a short commute by tube everyday of about 25 minutes, plus a further 6 minute walk each morning, which is probably going to be normal for most interns staying in central London.

Socially, with The Wire's offices being close to Soho and the West End, some evenings and Fridays we went for after work drinks, and the braver ones went on to clubs!

At the end of my internship, I gave a presentation on what I had learned, how I would expand the business, and my key takeaways. For someone that is slightly introvert, I found this really challenging, but equally rewarding once it was over, as the feedback on my ideas instilled a lot of confidence in me.

Before starting my internship, I would say that I had slightly biased pre-conceived ideas about what to expect, but the experience taught me to be open to new challenges, leave my preconceptions at the door, and to fully embrace new challenges.

Overall, doing an internship is a great way to spend the summer.

Pros
  • The ability and speed to access companies I would not be able to access myself was impressive
  • The tuition fees were comparable with other internship providers
