International Volunteer HQ - IVHQ

The local staff was so welcoming and comforting. They were also available to help with anything I needed and were so fun to be around. The IVHQ team was so helpful from the second I expressed interest in going on a trip through the organization. They provided an abundance of useful resources and helpful reminders of what I needed to complete by when. They were always available to answer any questions I had. The experience itself was truly exceptional. I loved meeting all the children and the local people. It was so exciting immersing myself in the local culture. I felt proud of the value I added to the community. I felt incredibly safe in the accommodations and the village. I did not want to leave and cannot wait to return for another trip in the future.

Reflecting on my time in Morocco brings a flood of warm memories. Habib's exceptional friendliness and support made me feel completely at ease, ensuring my safety and comfort. The camaraderie among fellow volunteers and the incredible kindness of the women I had the privilege to teach left a lasting impression. Morocco, with its rich culture and vibrant atmosphere, has left an indelible mark on my heart. As I move forward, I carry with me not just memories but a deep appreciation for the connections made and the experiences shared. I will truly miss the beauty and warmth of Morocco and its people.

I had the most amazing experience with the IVHQ program. They made it so easy and they were so helpful. It was such a amazing experience and I would 100% book another trip through this program. The IVHQ team make sure as you’re 100% prepared before you takeoff and even when you’re at your destinations they still continue to reach out to make sure everything is going great. I never once felt alone, even though I am solo traveling. This will be an experience. I will never forget. I made so many friends and learned so much about the culture. I definitely would recommend.

International Volunteer HQ gave me an unforgettable, life-changing and mind-blowing experience in Wildlife Conservation (Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe)! Everything was well-organized, I felt their support and willingness to help on every stage of the journey. The programme itself was well-structured and diverse, and I had an opportunity to take part in something meaningful and impactful for myself and our Planet. The variety of activities was great, including but not limited to collecting litter, helping local farmers with eradicating weed and tare, and raking the soil for further planting, cutting detrimental ‘Lantana’ bush, cleaning the area around electric fence, etc. The work wasn’t so hard, however it was physically challenging and as a result I gained some muscles.

In our spare time we used to hang out at the hotel nearby - we drank coffee/beer/fizzy drinks and played cool card games, such as Switch (also known as Crazy Eight, very similar to Uno), Kings and As*holes (my fav!!), and Skan*y Queen.

On Friday evening we went to the town to drink beer at the brewery (The River), play pool and dance at backpackers’ hostel (called Shoestrings), whereas in the weekend we partook in some wild activities, such as white water rafting.

So far nothing’s been said about people - the most important and memorable part of my journey. The volunteers who partook in this programme with me were just incredible, and I made some great friends and acquaintances from different parts of the world! I hope we’ll keep chit-chatting and perhaps one day we’ll go volunteering together.

To draw a conclusion I’d like to say that for me the best indicator of ‘coolness’ of a certain experience is emotional spectrum, i.e. the variety of emotions felt. My emotions and feelings varied from literally laughing my a*s off to breaking down in tears. Guys, I’m not trying to say that I’m emotionally unstable :) The only thing I’m trying to convey is IVHQ may evoke polar emotions, but they won’t leave you indifferent!

I loved being a volunteer at the Turtle Conservation in Nusa Penida. The staff was really helpful and easy to work with. I was able to learn a bit more about sea turtles, I did my best to help with the work in the conservation (cleaning the tanks and feeding the turtles) as well as beach cleaning and finally release our lovely friends back into the sea. There was a good balance between the work and the free time I used to explore the island and I was able to take a Friday off to spend the weekend in the Gili islands too.I made many friends and I felt I was giving back to the environment and the community. I would definitely recommend the experience to anyone.
