120-hour TEFL/TESOL course

I recently embarked on a life-changing adventure by enrolling in the 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course, and I can confidently say that it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The course I chose was not without its minor criticisms, but the overall impact it had on my teaching skills and career prospects far outweighed any drawbacks.

The online TEFL course I selected was a comprehensive and well-structured program that provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary to become an effective English teacher. The course content was divided into modules, each focusing on different aspects of language teaching, including grammar, lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching techniques. This structured approach made it easy for me to track my progress and stay organized throughout the course.

The course also had a strong emphasis on practical teaching experience. This was a major highlight for me, as it allowed me to apply the theoretical knowledge I gained in a real classroom setting. The course facilitated this through peer teaching sessions and teaching practicum assignments. These hands-on experiences were invaluable in building my confidence and honing my teaching skills.

The support and guidance provided by the course instructors were exceptional. They were readily available to answer questions, provide feedback on assignments, and offer constructive advice. Their expertise and dedication to the field of English language teaching were evident throughout the course. Additionally, the peer community that formed within the course was a source of inspiration and collaboration, allowing us to share experiences and insights.

Furthermore, the flexibility of the online format was a major advantage. I was able to complete the course at my own pace, which allowed me to balance my studies with other commitments. This flexibility made the course accessible to individuals from diverse backgrounds and time zones.

Now, as promised, let's delve into some minor criticisms. While the course was overall outstanding, there were a few areas where improvements could be made. Firstly, the user interface of the online platform, although functional, could be more intuitive and visually appealing. A more user-friendly interface would enhance the overall learning experience.

Another aspect that could be improved is the accessibility of the course materials. Although the content was rich and informative, some materials were only available in a downloadable format. Providing more content directly within the course platform, rather than as downloadable files, would streamline the learning process and reduce the need for external downloads.

Lastly, I found that the feedback on assignments, while generally helpful, could sometimes be more detailed. More specific feedback on areas for improvement would have been beneficial in fine-tuning my teaching skills.

In conclusion, my journey with the online TEFL course was an immensely positive one. The course structure, quality of materials, practical teaching experience, and the support of instructors and peers all contributed to a transformative learning experience. Despite some minor criticisms regarding the user interface, accessibility of materials, and assignment feedback, these drawbacks pale in comparison to the overall value I gained from the course. I emerged from this program as a confident and skilled English teacher, ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of my future students. If you're considering a TEFL course, I wholeheartedly recommend exploring online options like the one I undertook, as they offer an accessible and enriching pathway into the world of English language teaching.

User-friendly, instructive and beneficial!

World TESOL Academy helped me out as someone who cannot access a desktop. It might be self-paced learning but it was sufficient, accessible, and beneficial!
My experience in my first course was easy! I was worried that I wouldn't grasp the lesson, might get uninterested, or wouldn't finish it in time, and yet, it was the opposite.
Having it accessible anytime got me through the lessons, even with limited free time.
I got more tips and information that I haven't learned before that I'm sure will be helpful when I teach English in the future.

Pros
  • Self-paced and consistent assessment
  • Browser accessible
  • Comprehensive and substantial
Cons
  • Payment option is limited
  • Expensive Hard copy certificate

A broad training of TESL with excellent value

I was a TESL teacher in Asia as well as a teacher in the California public school system for 20 years. I have returned to the world of TESL as I search for an engaging retirement activity. I know this subject well. This course is an excellent high-value training that covers all the wide-ranging aspects of teaching ESL. It follows a logical and well-structured approach that forms a great foundation for beginning teachers to launch their careers in this field. The only thing new for me was online teaching and feel I am ready after completing that class.

Pros
  • Logical course design
  • User-friendly format
  • Great explanations
Cons
  • Sometimes a review test question was ambiguous.
