About Program

Costa Rica is a nature lover’s paradise. Experience diverse beaches, lush jungles, and exotic wildlife found nowhere else on Earth!

On our Sea Turtle Conservation trip you’ll spend your days volunteering with one of our project partners in Costa Rica.

Most of your volunteer duties happen in the afternoon and evening when the turtle hatchlings are most active.

Which means you can spend your mornings lounging on black sand beaches and swimming in the ocean teeming with life.

You’ll be able explore the active volcanoes and mist forests of this adventurous country with travellers you meet along the way.

You’ll be making a difference in the life of sea turtles in Costa Rica. But you’ll also be living in one of the most biodiverse and nature-forward countries on Earth.

We offer the full package for a smooth volunteer-abroad experience.

When you book with us you can leave guesswork out of organising your travels and focus on having the trip of a lifetime.

Sea Turtle Conservation - Costa Rica

I didn’t really know what to expect with this work.

I absolutely loved the location. I loved walking around and finding new beaches. I would however express to others that activity wise, there is nothing really around. So you have to create your own activities.

There is such excitement in knowing that you are helping the environment.
Hatchlings make all the night shift worth it.

Definitely brush up on Spanish and enjoy the culture. Everyone is really friendly and willing to help out!

A worthwhile experience!

Pros
  • Home cooked meals
  • Helping the environment
  • Meeting new people
Cons
  • Night shifts
  • 2km walk to accomodation at night (sometimes solo)
  • Not close to pharmacy/shops

Ostional Volunteer Program

Everything about this trip was amazing. The coordinators guide you every step of the way and make the whole process a breeze. Arriving at the station and getting into the work is very rewarding and the staff are all wonderful, friendly people. The work can be tough but the reward is worth every bit of it, as well as the friends you make while you're there. I can't recommend this trip enough, if you love turtles, tropical weather,or conservation work, I highly recommend spending some time in Ostional.

Pros
  • Sea Turtles
  • Food
  • Staff
Cons
  • Hot humid weather
